When we are about to make a massive change in our lives, the period is mostly between Christmas and New Year. You are gaining all the holiday weight between the parties and family invitations. New change approaches with the shift of the calendar date, and suddenly, you have this adrenaline rush to reset your life.
Self-love is one motto or resolution that most make during New Year’s. However, how many are really able to get through it?
This is because self-love is not a resolution you make at the spur of the moment, under the influence of champagne, in your sparkly New Year outfit, with a countdown going on. You are already high on life during that moment, and every dream will look achievable.
Self-love is a habit you need to work on every day, and if you are struggling with it, we suggest not waiting for the new year. Why not take the pledge to restart your life tomorrow itself? And here is your thirty-day guideline to do so.
Choose kindness today, and make the most out of your life. Find ways to show gratitude towards oneself and to others. Resetting life doesn’t take much other than simply complimenting someone and sending flowers.
Whether it is your family member or your mother staying internationally, you need to send flowers to Germany.
Self-love, on the other hand, is a mixture of choosing happiness for oneself and others!
In this article below, we have broken down a thirty-day challenge that will help you pick up an activity that inches you more towards self-love each day.
30-Day Self-Love Challenge to Reset Your Life Anytime You Want
So, without any further ado, let’s get into the 30-day challenge, which can help you reset your life anytime you want.
Day 1: Understand Your Own Value
One of the major reasons why we are all failing in self-love is definitely underestimating ourselves. This is why, in order to start your self-love journey with a bang, you should find your own value. Value you hold in front of others (people you love) and how much you value yourself.
Day 2: Start A Gratitude Journal
We are always caught up with what we do not have and seldom remember what we are blessed with. In order to give us a reality check of our privileges and be grateful for all the fortune dawned upon us, we need a gratitude journal. It is a short journal and perfect for everyone who failed to continue a journal post on the 1st of January. You will need to write five things you are grateful for the day and five more situations throughout the day that made you happy. This will help you get a different perspective on your day-to-day life.
Day 3: List Five Things You Love About Yourself
One cannot love themselves if they do not know what to love. This is why your third day entails writing five amazing qualities about yourself that you love. It might get a little difficult, but remember, no one is judging you. This is an activity solely for your mind and soul.
Day 4: Create A Vision Board For Your Reset
If resetting your life is also a secondary goal alongside your self-love journey, ensure you do not get overwhelmed. This means you need to create a fun and vibrant vision board that points to your goals for the reset. Try to make it productive, but do not go overboard with unrealistic expectations. The goal here is to motivate yourself, and you cannot do so if you are constantly failing.
Day 5: List Five Achievements You Are Proud Off
One can always be excited about their upcoming success. However, it is also important to sit back and reflect on your previous ones. Other than that, your successes won’t make any difference. Today, you will sit and make a list of the top five achievements you are very proud of and relive these moments.
Day 6: Set One Realistic Goal For The End Of Your Year
Among all your long-term goals, it can be easier to get overwhelmed. If you want that dose of motivation, why not take one small goal and plan to achieve it by the end of the year? You will accomplish and be inspired to do more. This goal could be as small as having an exercise routine by the end of the day or finishing this challenge.
Day 7: Take A Full Day To Yourself
After the sixth day, you would probably hit a weekend. However, if you do not, we suggest you take a leave from work. This 24 hours is all for yourself! Do whatever you want without the fear of any judgment. Have a lazy day where you lay around and do all your favorite work. Get that extra hour of sleep, binge that series you wanted to, take a walk in nature, and don’t do anything else.
Day 8: Take A Long Bath After Coming Home From Work
Mondays are the most difficult days of the month. We often worry about the entire week that we have to go through to reach that weekend. Maybe you need a change of perspective and not look at your entire week as a battlefield. If the tiresome week is bothering you, come home and take a long bath or shower. You will instantly feel refreshed and already ready for the next day.
Day 9: Get Yourself A Flower Delivery Subscription
Flowers have such an innate way to work on our psyche. For starters, the scent can work as aromatherapy, calming us during anxious moments. Secondly, beautiful flowers with vibrant colors have a way of reducing nervous thoughts. It is high time you get all the fresh roses, daisies, and sunflowers delivered weekly to your doorstep.
Day 10: Treat Yourself To Your Favorite Dessert
Many think self-loving has a strong dietary notion to it. However, if you consume anything moderately, you do not have to worry about anything. So, on the tenth day of your self-love journey, treat yourself to your favorite decadent dessert.
Day 11: Talk To Your Favorite Person
Self-love is not always about getting into a cocoon each time you come home from work. Sometimes, it is the dopamine release you get upon talking to your favorite person. Either call your favorite friend, sibling, cousin, parent, or grandparents. Or, if you are lucky enough to live with them, take this opportunity to have a deep conversation today.
Day 12: Cook Your Favorite Meal Or Order In
Cooking a meal is not just an act of sustenance. It could be highly therapeutic in terms of taking time for oneself. However, the goal of this activity is to activate your taste buds, get those endorphins released from your favorite food, and enjoy the activity. Do not worry if you cannot cook; you can always order takeout from your favorite restaurant.
Day 13: Start Your Day With Positive Affirmations
Many deny the functionality of positive affirmations. But it is all about believing in something positive rather than dwelling on negativity. This will also help you get a new perspective on negative situations. Write five affirmations that you would love to repeat the night before, and repeat them in the morning like a mantra.
Day 14: Start Meditating For Mindfulness
By the time you reach half of your challenge, you should be quite deep down the path of self-love. This is when it might get a little difficult to hold on because it will teach you to love the parts you have historically hated about yourself. Therefore, we begin the journey with mindful meditation. This will help improve our concentration and help us work better towards this challenge or any other.
Day 15: Stare At The Mirror For 5 Minutes
This could be a jarring task for anyone who has previously not liked their body. However, your self-love journey begins by loving every part of you. Most importantly, stopping the toxic train of self-doubt and destructive criticism. Time yourself simply staring at your body and learning to accept the normality of the dents and scars. For the very first day, you might not be able to continue this for five long minutes. Do not worry; a solid three minutes will do as well.
Day 16: Wear Something You Love
Wear something that flatters all the beautiful parts of your body. Whether it is a dress that accentuates your curves or a color that goes best with the coloring of your eyes, put on some makeup if you are into it.
Day 17: Take Yourself Out On A Date
Wear the same dress and get yourself all decked up for day 17. Today, you will be taking yourself out on a date. The best part is you will need no schedule or planning. Do whatever your heart desires. Watch a movie with the entire popcorn tub to yourself, or go to your favorite fast food joint to enjoy a meal just by yourself.
Day 18: Dance Like No One’s Watching
Play your favorite tune and start dancing like no one’s watching. In your room, dance till your heart rate is up, and you feel alive and energetic again.
Day 19: Read A Book You Love
Now, this book could be your favorite book or a new one you got from the bookstore. Sometimes, we all need an escape from reality. So, take help from fiction and your favorite characters to do so!
Day 20: Get Into A Digital Detox
Our life has been so digitized that we have forgotten the meaning of simple living. On this day, you give yourself the much-needed digital detox. Keep all your electronics away, shut your wifi, put your phone in, do not disturb, and simply enjoy being present.
Day 21: Create A Cozy Movie Setup
As the colder months are approaching, we all want to snuggle in our comfy pajamas and get into a cozy movie. However, this time, you will set up a scene with all the comfortable pillows and cozy blankets. Most importantly, pick a movie that inspires your cause and makes you want to wake up the next day wanting to love yourself a little more.
Day 22: Improve One Flaw Of Yours
Loving yourself means accepting yourself with whatever flaws it comes with. However, if you think that you can improve, this is the day you start working on it.
Day 23: Find A New Hobby
Finding a hobby gives you an escape from boredom and negative intrusive thoughts and, most importantly, gives you confidence. Have you been wanting to learn that new language? Trying a new art form? This is your sign to enroll in that class you have always wanted.
Day 24: Read A Motivational Book
We have already mentioned reading books. However, sometimes we have to step away from the fiction and love the reality we are in. This requires a change in perspective. This is something that you can achieve by reading the pearls of wisdom from these motivational books.
Day 25: Find An Exercise Routine
Exercise is not just a routine for your fitness; it also helps regulate your happy chemicals. Walking out in nature for more than thirty minutes could help some of the b
Day 26: Find Means To Let Your Frustration Out
In a busy life, you will end your days with frustration building up. And that is why you need to find ways to get that frustration out. Find yourself a hobby that will help you read that frustration.
For instance, why not take advantage of Scream Day (the 24th of April)? However, if the Scream Day is far, you can follow different methods. Try writing everything that is worrying you on a sheet of paper and then burn it down.
Day 27: Work On Your Finances
Most of your worries come from your finances. If you can keep your finances in order, 50% of your frustration and worries will be taken care of.
Start by managing your personal finances. Make a budget for everything. For instance, distribute the finances based on the necessities and savings. Yes, take this opportunity to have some finances allotted for entertainment.
Trust us: Once you are done with your manaces, you will know where your money is going and will be able to save more.
Day 28: Write Down Some Of Your Mistakes & Reflect
Everybody makes mistakes. Instead of feeling down and discouraged, one must take it as a learning experience. Start by writing down your mistakes on a sheet of paper. And start thinking of ways in which you can avoid making the same mistakes twice.
Day 29: Change Your Space With New Home Decor
As you know, autumn is coming, so why not decorate your new space to match the new season? This is one of the best ways to boost your mood. Especially in this cold season, a person is prone to SAD (Seasonal Associative Depression).
Day 30: Reflect On Your 30-Day Challenge
Finally, we are at the end of the month. This last one has been great. Now that we are at the last day of the month let’s reflect on what we have done and achieved.
Start self-contemplation. Evaluate how you are feeling. Find the difference between how you felt 30 days ago and how you feel now.
What we mean to say is write down everything that you feel is different after these 30 days.
