Because what we eat doesn’t only impact our weight and health, it affects our productivity too.

Top 6 Healthy Snacks to Have at the Workplace

Do you know that eating high sugar and high-fat meals or snacks will make you feel sleepy and have a lower energy level? That’s what all the dieticians suggest. Most of us make bad snacking decisions at our workplaces all the time. The main reasons for these mindless snacking choices could be stress and boredom. Lack of healthy options could be a valid reason for many. And that’s how many of us end up devouring a greasy pizza or an extra-sweet, tempting cupcake.

Following are some easy and healthy snacking options to consider:

  3. Almonds and Dark Chocolate.

It can also reduce the risk of heart disease. Almonds control the blood sugar, as they are rich in monounsaturated fat. Almonds can help in reducing your appetite and even in weight loss.

4. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Packed with protein and vitamins, eggs are perhaps the healthiest snack that you can have. Eggs are quite filling and can help in reducing the number of calories you consume for hours. So, while you are snacking healthy, you are also working on losing some of your extra weight. And when it comes to preparing your snack, getting your hands on a couple of eggs and boiling them up is totally effortless.

5. Peanut Butter on Apple Slices

For those who want to snack on something delicious, know that peanut butter and apples taste great together. Apples are known to have their benefits in improving gut health and reduction of heart diseases. Also, apples are rich in fiber and are quite filling. Peanut butter, however, is high in calories and should be consumed in moderation. Have a medium apple with about a tablespoon of natural peanut butter. 6. Hummus with Cucumber Slices

The ingredients of this snack combo go well together. We are talking about hummus and cucumbers. Cucumbers contain anti-cancer compounds. While the ingredients of hummus are olive oil, garlic, and chickpeas. They help in reducing inflammation and enhance heart health. A cup of sliced cucumbers dipped in about 100 grams of hummus will make a perfect serving for you.

All these snack suggestions are easy to make on your own. The ingredients are simple and readily available. But if you could convince your office admin to provide these snacks as an in-office perk instead of phone and internet, that would be great. This way you will enjoy a variety of healthy options.
