6 Career Paths to Take if You Love the Outdoors Pin It
Source: nextluxury

There are many career paths for people who love outdoor activities.  Some people may be interested in becoming park rangers, while others might prefer to work as environmental scientists or outdoor educators. There are also many careers that involve working with plants and animals, such as veterinary medicine or agriculture. And of course, there are always opportunities for those who want to spend their days fishing or hiking. No matter what your outdoor passion may be, there is a perfect career waiting for you out there somewhere. Let’s look at some of them.

1. Yoga Teacher

Yoga teachers are a great option for those who appreciate the outdoors. Becoming a certified yoga instructor requires extensive training and education, which can be done online or in person. Potential students should consider their preferred learning style when deciding between the two options. Once certified, yoga teachers can teach classes outside in parks or even on beaches depending on local regulations. Teaching yoga classes outdoors allows students to absorb the calming energy of nature, and it can be a great way to meet like-minded people. Experienced yoga teachers may also have the opportunity to lead retreats in exotic locations, giving them access to unique natural environments and cultures worldwide.

2. Outdoor Adventure Guide

Outdoor adventure guides lead groups of people through different types of outdoor experiences, such as hiking, climbing, kayaking, and more. This profession is ideal for those who are well-versed in safety procedures and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. Adventure guides should be physically fit and prepared to manage challenging situations while being alert at all times. They must also possess excellent communication skills, be able to remain calm in difficult situations, and have the ability to think quickly.

3. Environmental Scientist

Environmental scientists are responsible for studying different environmental systems, such as air and water quality, and the impact of human activities on those systems. To become an environmental scientist, one must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as environmental science, earth science, or biology. This profession requires strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically about complex issues and data. Environmental scientists also need to be able to work independently and in teams in order to gather data and develop solutions for various environmental problems.

4. Tour Guide

Tour guides are the perfect job for outdoor enthusiasts who love sharing their knowledge and experience with others. Tour guides help people explore different areas, such as national parks or historical sites, while providing educational information along the way. To become a tour guide, one must typically possess some kind of certification or a degree in a related field. It’s also helpful to have knowledge of the local area and its customs.

5. Zookeeper

Zookeepers are responsible for the care, maintenance, and management of animals in zoos or wildlife parks. This profession requires patience and dedication, as well as an understanding of animal behavior and safety protocols. To become a zookeeper, one must possess a degree in a related field such as animal science, biology, or veterinary medicine. Most zookeepers must obtain certifications and/or complete on-the-job training before they are allowed to work with animals. Zookeepers also need to be comfortable working in all types of weather, since many job duties take place outdoors.

6. Farm Worker

Farm workers are often the unsung heroes of the outdoor career world. Working on farms and in agricultural settings, these jobs may involve planting and tending crops or caring for animals. Duties can range from manual labor such as harvesting to more specialized tasks like operating machinery for fertilizer applications or crop dusting. With a strong work ethic and some basic knowledge of farming practices, farm workers can find many rewarding opportunities in the field. Caring for livestock is an important job in the agricultural industry. As a rancher or herdsman, you will be responsible for looking after animals, including making sure they have sufficient food and water as well as checking for signs of illness and injury. You may also be in charge of breeding and vaccinating animals, as well as overseeing the general health of the entire herd. If you’re interested in a career working with animals outdoors, ranching or herdsman jobs could be perfect for you.

For those who love being outdoors, there are many different career paths available. From adventure guides to zookeepers and farm workers, there is something for everyone who wants to make a living in the great outdoors. With specialized knowledge and skills, you can find the perfect job that allows you to spend time enjoying the natural beauty of our world while also making a living.
