25th July was a day when most of Pakistan was out in masses to vote. This was not only to vote for the political party that they supported. It was also for them to fulfill their role as a responsible Pakistani citizen.
There were a lot of polls and interviews as to who would win and whether people would try to even come out of their houses and vote. Some came on their own, others were encouraged, and the rest came to vote when they saw that their favorite actor or actress had come out to vote.
A big part was played by actors and actresses, and then social media influencers who were able to encourage others to come out and vote. A hashtag was used that was along the lines ‘I played my part, have you played yours.’
Supporters for Imran Khan
Hamza Ali Abbasi is one of those few actors who did not have to come out on the day of elections and reveal who they were supporting. A Pakistani needs to be quite oblivious not to know who Hamza Ali Abbasi, the Man Mayal star, is encouraging. He takes on Twitter war very seriously, and you might have seen his tweets every day when election temperature was high. Check it out.
Hamza Ali Abbasi tweeted in the 15th of July 2018, “Just a polite reminder: 10 days to go till Wazir e Azam Pakistan Imran Khan.”

We have the results declared, and there is nothing more left to say. After Imran Khan actually won the elections and is now the Prime Minister of Pakistan, his first wife, Jemima Goldsmith tweeted, “22 years later, after humiliations, hurdles, and sacrifices, my sons’ father is Pakistan’s next PM. It’s an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief & refusal to accept defeat. The challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the 1st place. Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI”

It is something when someone who you have parted ways with, still congratulates you on your win. And as Jemima herself said it, the challenge would be to see if the claims and the promises are fulfilled or not.
Have you seen the excitement of our celebrities? Yes, this was not easy to control. Every Pakistani star takes twitter on the roll for urging people. In the progress of every country, celebrities play an important role. Their support matters. This shows how much everyone was looking for a change. Wish you all a prosperous NAYA Pakistan!!! 🙂
